Multnomah Falls

This waterfall is as magnificent and memorable as any in the country! Multnomah Falls is located just 30 minutes from Rolling Hills Mobile Terrace & RV Park. You’ll love the 611-foot-tall roaring, awe-inspiring cascade of icy water that lets you experience the power and beauty of nature up close and with ease. From the parking area off of I-84, a five-minute walk is all that separates you from the exhilarating spray at the base of the falls.

Oregon Zoo

Trek through the tropics amid the sounds of birds, monkeys and other creatures. You’re not in West Africa – you’re in Portland at the zoo’s African Rain Forest exhibit. After you’ve survived the steamy tropics, dry off in the savanna where giraffes, rhinos and hippos graze. From the crest of the Cascade Mountains to the coastal waters of Peru, travel around the world in an afternoon without leaving Oregon.

Portland Japanese Garden

Nestled in the city’s scenic west hills, the Portland Japanese Garden is a haven of tranquil beauty which has been proclaimed one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Encompassing five-and-a-half acres and offering five separate garden styles, the Japanese Garden includes an authentic Japanese Tea House, meandering streams, intimate walkways and an unsurpassed view of Mt. Hood.

The Portland Japanese Garden is open daily, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 1 through Sept. 30; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 through March 31; open Mondays at 12 p.m. The Garden offers events, workshops and cultural holiday celebrations.

International Rose Test Garden

The garden is open daily, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Local tip: During summer, visit in the early evening when it’s cooler and less crowded. Additionally, the Peninsula Park Rose Garden has 6,500 rose plantings and is located in north Portland; and Ladd Circle Park & Rose Gardens, which features 3,000 roses, sits in the historic southeast Portland neighborhood of the same name.
